Christian Aid Walk 2017 Rescheduled to 14th October
The annual Christian Aid Sheep’s Head Hike has been rearranged to take place on Saturday 14th October. Due to heavy rains forecast from early morning and throughout the day on 2nd Septmber the event was cancelled after agreement that there cause for genuine concern regarding the overall health & safety of participants. .
Meeting point and registration for both walks is at 11am on Saturday 14th October, at Kilcrohane Hall.
Buses will run to The Black Gate for the start of Walk A from 11.20am.
The bus pick up points for Route 1 are; the Café at Tooreen and at Andrew O'Sullivan's cross at Faill Bheag and back to Kilcrohane Hall.
There will be refreshments in the Hall afterwards.

Route A for experienced walkers :
Main SHW and most of Poet's Way Loop.
Start : The Black Gate
Distance : 13.6 Km approx.
Finish : Café in Tooreen or at Faill Bheag (Andrew O'Sullivan's cross)
Starting out from The Black Gate on the main SHW until you get to junction for the Poet's Way. We will be walking this route in the opposite direction for which it is marked (red arrows) Instead of walking straight on for Tooreen we will be heading northwest via Reagh and Eskeraha.
Route B open to everyone :
Farranamanagh Loop
Start : Kilcrohane Hall
Distance :6.1 Km approx.
Finish : Kilcrohane Hall
Starting out and finishing at Kilcrohane Hall following the Red arrows for the Farranamanagh Loop.
